Mariner Power Tilt and Trim Motors
Q:
How hard is it to replace this unit ? Does the motor have to be removed from the boat ?
A:
There are 4 bolts to remove and the electrical to disconnect. It is not necessary to remove the engine from the boat to change the power tilt and trim motor.
Q:
My motor serial # is OT157207. It calls for part#828708T - is this an appropriate OEM replacement?
A:
According to Mercury's breakdown your OEM number was 878265A4. This cross references with that and 828708T. So this motor will work for your outboard.
Q:
I have a mercury black max out board and have to tap on trim tilt motor to make it work. can I put brushes in it or do I need a new motor. 1988 135 hp?
A:
We are not technicians to diagnose your engine. You will need to take it in to a local dealer. However, it does not appear that there is a brush kit associated with your trim motor.
Q:
What type of oil do I use in this pump? I have a 1995 Force 120hp?
A:
Should be just tilt and trim fluid. We offer that fluid such as part number 28510.
Q:
Will this fit 1987 50 hp mariner?
A:
It will if the serial number for your engine is 5531630-UP and it is a 4 cylinder.

A:
We will need to know the marine distributor (manufacturer) for the engine parts and outdrive.
Q:
What do you recommend for replacement of tilt/trim unit for 150hp Mercury Black Max (1984?) seriial?
A:
We will need the engine serial number to give you a part number.
