Vented Support Pole - 30" to 57" - Westland

I ordered the vented support pole with my Sharkskin cover. The pole is easy to install so that it goes through the boat cover. I can see where some people might have a concern about cutting a hole in the boat cover BUT the way the two discs on top of the pole clamp down on the cover material I don't see the material ripping beyond the initial hole made for pole insertion. We recently had high winds and very hard rains and the integrity of the pole and the material was not compromised. The pole retained its extended length, locks in very well holding its position under stress.

It arrived as advertised and I think works great. The only negative is that I had to cut the hole in the cover however, the template they provide works pefectly.

The new cover came with vents sewn in, but the cover sat with a dip where the vents were located and would allow water inside the covered boat. The vented pole was a good additional purchase and it has allowed me to elevate the cover enough for water to easily run off. My only problem was that I had to cut and install to the cover, which was not difficult, but being my first time I thought I position it correctly. Now as I look at it I wished I could move it as I can better see how it sits on the boat. It will work in it's current location, but it could be better. I would have liked it already attached since the boat cover is custom sized for my boat and the position could have easily been a measurement done at the factory during construction.

Only modification needed would be at the front of the sponsoms

Keeps the angle on your cover to prevent puddles from rain and snow. Hated to have to cut a hole in the new cover to install it. It would be nice if the hole was prep laced and reinforced.

I was afraid to cut a hole in my new cover

Once we get the cover properly fitted and install the vent pole I am confident that it will keep our boat and cover in top notch shape.

I'm using the poles, but have not installed the vents yet. I'm hesitant to cut the canvas to install them, since there are snaps installed where the poles are to be placed. I have enough wind that there is no problem with mildew setting in under the cover. I'll get around to it, just haven't yet.

I did not notice in your add that the cover comes with 2 vents - so a vented support pole is not necessary. The cover add suggests use of a vented support pole, so that is why I purchased it not realizing the cover has built in vents.

This Support Pole was easy to install as the instructions were clear and easy to follow. As we are in late summer with hot days and cool moist evenings the ventillation that this provides is keeping the uderside of the boat cover dry. I believe that this was a wise purchase.

This did the trick and is secure and sturdy. We used the template, attached the pole and it works fine.

Product is a bit expensive but appears to work as advertised. Pole is well made and easy to properly install. Time will tell if it is effective in reducing mold and mildew but I believe it will be beneficial.

As other reviewers have said, I should have bought two for my 232 Bryant boat but didn't know at the time. I guess because I didn't, it put too much stress on the one I did purchase, which I placed per the instructions but now when I lock it down, after a few minutes it slides down anyway and doesn't keep the top tight. I'm disappointed, but hopeful that the second one will work in place of the first, and I can move the original to the front of the boat where I don't need it to stand as tall. Besides this problem, this is a great product and I'm glad I purchased it.

In 35 years of boat ownership I have replaced a number of boat covers because I did not have this support pole. This product should eleminate the damage done by snow and water accumulating on the cover.

worked out really well. product was made good, we are very happy

Have not tried to install it yet not sure i want to cut the cover and risk potential tear in the future.

I was nervous about cutting the hole in my expensive new cover to install this but the material (sharkskin plus) was so resistant it took a while to cut. Apeears the vent section will hold firm to the cover and I expect great results.

I got this with the Westland Hydamax cover I ordered. The cover already comes with vents sewn in it so I didn't cut a hole for this and instal it, instead I just use it to keep the cover from sagging in the middle so the water will run off better.

Easy to install and use. Much better than using an oar or 2x4 to prop up a sagging cover!

Arrived in good shape.
