Communication for the boat solved

Initially I was going to purchase a standard VHF radio and whip antenna instead I elected to go with the handheld and very happy I did so no problems out on the water with communication and the water acted as an antenna clear communication very satisfied

Does the charger work from an in-house plug-in? Is the battery clip good, strong quality?

There is no in-house charger available. The battery clip is very sturdy.

What is the range and how many watts?
A:
It is hard to give an exact range because range has so many factors that affect it. Generally a 5 watt handheld will communicate approximately 7 miles to another (2 watts about 5 miles). This Uniden has a frequency range of 156-158 MHz on the transmitter and receiver is 156-164 MHz. It has a selectable transmit power of 1/2.5/5 watts.
