Turbo In-Line Blowers: Design Features
Aerospace Technology
Attwood's Turbo Blowers were the first vane axial-flow fan bilge blowers designed using aerospace technology to maximize performance. Attwood engineers re-designed every element -- motor, housing, and fan -- for the highest possible system efficiency and blower performance. They succeeded in building some of the most effective blowers in the industry.
Higher Output
No other bilge blowers in the industry provide such powerful system output at such low power input in a compact size.
  • System airflow exceeds old-style in-line blowers by as much as 25%
  • Motor draws up to 40% fewer amps, making Turbo blowers up to four times more efficient than competitive blowers. This means unsurpassed reliability
  • Straight-through housing minimizes airflow loss
  • Nose cone straightens airflow for efficient entry into the fan blades; five-blade design minimizes airflow interference
  • The blade sweep and pitch are engineered for a high lift coefficient, increasing airflow speed; reinforced plastic maintains blade shape

by Larry from La Vergne, Tennessee on September 11, 2013
I am going to use it to blow air from outside onto the car alternator diodes, I did wire it temporarily to the car battery, works fine, should move enough air to cool my alternator, trick is going to be how to run the flexible duct in the engine compartment.

Great Little Blower
by John from Hot Springs, Arkansas on July 15, 2011
I purchased 2 blowers to be used as HVAC booster fans for our 27 passenger Church bus. I installed these blowers inline on the ductwork I installed and they performed perfectly to my expectations. We just used this bus to go on a week long mission trip in Toronto Canada. All passengers said the HVAC provided for their needs because of these great little blowers. I know these blowers are designed for boats but they work great in other 12V applications that require a small and powerful blower. Great job ibloats for providing a quality product at a resonable price. Best Regards, John Morton, Jr.

Q:
Do you have an inline blower that can operate at a higher temp to aid in cooling an engine compartment?
A:
In all honesty it all depends on your boat and engine. You need to know the CFM (cubic feet per minute) required. What is best is to contact a technician and see what is recommended along with electrical specs (volt, draw amp, etc.). This particular one's CFM open flow is 200. You can also post a question in our forum which connects you with thousands of boaters for possible suggestions at http://forums.iboats.com/.

Q:
What size fuse is needed for thi blower?
A:
Fuse size is 5 amp for the 12V model.

Q:
What is the CFM?
A:
CFM open flow is 200.

Q:
Can this be used with a reostat speed control?
A:
According to Attwood, if you are using this blower in the bilge, it cannot be used with a reostat speed control.

Q:
Can this blower be run continuously without overheating?
A:
This Attwood 4000 blower will eventually overheat in time. All electric motors reach that point before failure. It is intended to be turned on and off.
