The soft canopy cover on my boat got torn by a tree branch that should have been trimmed. The result was about a 2 foot tear and not clean cut. So after a good amount of research on the web, I decided to go with 2 rolls of tape and hope it would work. I carefully read the instructions and also watched some videos that tear aid has on their website. Since I did not have a clean cut, and the canopy is a tight fit, my joint was anywhere from a butt to one half inch. I applied the tape to the top and underside of the canopy. You have to be patient and careful as once Tear-Aid goes down it is not coming up. This repair has been on for over two months and has survived many a heavy downpour, temperature down to 30F and sun to 90F. The repair still looks like it was done yesterday. Now I do not have to worry about getting the canopy repaired till after boating season, or I just might leave it as is. It is a pricey product. However, if you have a situation such as this one, it prevented losing valuable recreation time and may be a cost savings as well.
