Tach Wiring Harness, OMC - Teleflex Marine

I ordered a harness for a 15 hp Mercury 2000. The package said for Johnson/Evenrude. So I called and was told it was the correct one. But it was not. The plug did not fit and the wiring colors were incorrrect. Instead of the hastle of returning it I modified it by tracing wires and has to splice in at the right point. It now works but was not as ordered.
