When the ladder is in the catches, it can weave from side to side, and gives a feeling of instability. The catches hold the base of the ladder in position well enough, but they don't prevent it from rotating. They might work if the ladder were a little beefier, but not with this ladder.

Not sure what you are asking here. The 76000 is not a ladder but the catch. Mounting the catch will require screws, but you will need to get that locally as hull or decks are not all the same.
