Seasense is nonsense
by Philip from Eagle River, Alaska on July 19, 2013
Warning, this product does not appear to work with any Tohatsu/Nissan motor. I purchased Seasense part no. 50052239 thinking that it would fit the tank end of my factory original Tohatsu fuel hose (as advertised and as stated on the Seasense packaging). I have a 2004 M9.8B Tohatsu two-stroke outboard motor. It did not fit my original Tohatsu fuel hose. Seasense denies that there is a problem and talked nothing but "nonsense" on the telephone when I confronted them with this issue. In my July 2013 phone call to Seasense, I was referred to their technical representative "Patrick". He refused to acknowledge that there was a problem with their product. Patrick could not tell me what Tohatsu/Nissan motor this part would fit. Patrick said that he had never heard of the Tohatsu brand name. He refused to remedy my problem. Oddly, this Seasense fitting instead fits the motor end if the fuel hose(not the tank end as it should). I have 3 genuine Tohatsu fuel hoses so there is nothing unusual about my fuel hoses. The Seasense packaging says "Tohatsu/Nissan Male TANK Connector". According to a Tohatsu technical rep that I spoke with on the telephone, all female quick connect/disconnect female tank end fittings on Tohatsu/Nissan outboard motor fuel hoses (regardless of 2-stroke/4-stroke, horsepower, model year, etc. are the same and have always been the same. This advice from the Tohatsu technical rep appears to be correct because the Tohatsu website only offers one tank end fitting for all makes and models of Tohatsu outboard motors. Trying to explain this to the Seasense rep was like talking to a brick wall. My experience is that when I buy aftermarket products to save money, I get burned about 50% of the time. The vendor did refund my money on this item but Seasense refuses to own up to the problem. Apparently Seasense likes to let their dealers take the hit instead of owning up to their own problems. My advice is to stay clear of Seasense products.

wrong part, 3 times !!!
by James from Miami, Florida on August 13, 2011
Request was for male fuel line connector - engine side to Seasense through Iboats for Nissan outboard. Given wrong part number twice, ordered part from Iboats, third call to Seasence was told " sorry we dont make that part." Previously ordered female fuel line connector from Seasense which didn't fit original male engine connector. Poorly engineared after marked product. Stay away from Seasense.

works
by Roger from Tampa, Florida on June 24, 2012
had some old rotten hoses for 2 cycle Tohatsu motors, needed a new tank and to fix up a couple of old ones. One old hose still worked. Tested the fitting on the new tank, the older but fairly new hose, connected well. New hoses worked fine too. Fitting worked, no problems.
