    Dont these modules have to mount right behind the knob on the outside of the dash to work. Isnt that very unsightly?
    A:
    According to Sierra these have to be mounted behind the dash. Then you drill little holes in the dash so that the light can shine through those holes.

    What activates the lighting? Does the module "sense" the current when turned on or is there a physical movement I am missing?
    A:
    You'll need a Rotary Switch which helps activate the lights. The Rotoswitch need to go with the MP78950 is: MP78860.
