Reed Switch Sending Unit, 9" - Moeller

This replacement fit with zero modification. Though 1/2 inch longer than the original that was in my Bayliner 2150, it seems to be the shortest one made these days. The warning literature says you should have on-inch clearance between the bottom end of the switch and the tank bottom. I have only 1/2 inch clearance but since there is near zero flex in my system, I am comfortable. This replacement has a stainless tube which is an improvement over the old design. I was pleased to see that the accompanying literature included the ohm readings for full empty which I confirmed before doing the install. My gage reads perfectly now. Thanks!

Part arrived quickly and easy to install

The above rating does not apply. I am reasonablly sure it would have worked OK. I had to return the switch due to a length requirement problem. The best tank depth I could obtain prior to the order for the tank depth was 8 1/2". When I received the new unit, I removed the old unit to find out the new unit was 1/2" to long. It appeared to work OK other wise. In my return request I asked if it would be possible to obtain a unit 7" in length, I did not receive a reply. I only received the return information which wroked OK. Thanks for the help. Regards, Woody
