Docklite Pro (Video)

Video Transcript

Today we’ll be performing a basic Pro Dock Lite installation on a wooden dock. These are the tools and additional materials you will need; 2 fasteners per Pro Dock Lite to be installed, Dock edge recommends a #8 or #10 x 1 inch stainless steel wood screw, a screwdriver for that screw or a cordless drill with driver bit for that screw. Before you begin your installation, this product may have been in a sealed carton for a prolonged period of time. Remove any protective film covering the solar panel.

Place the unit unit facing the sun for a minimum of 8 to 10 hours of full sunlight exposure. If weather conditions don’t permit this, place the product 12 to 14 inches away from a strong spotlight for 2 to 3 hours.

Once the product is charged cover the solar panel completely to ensure it illuminates in the absence of light. If making multiple installations, make sure that all Pro Dock Lites are installed no less than 6 feet apart in the direction of the illumination. This is to ensure that the light emitted from one Pro Dock Lite won’t affect the solar sensor of another. Keep in mind that Pro Dock Lites placed in areas with poor sunlight exposure will not emit as intense or as long-lasting light as Pro Dock Lites placed in areas with good sunlight exposure

Fasten the Pro Dock Lite to the deck board with #8 or # 10 x 1 inch wood screws. Allow a minimum of 8 to 10 hours of full sunlight exposure to charge the Pro Dock Lite.

Now let’s recap the Pro Dock Lite installation. Plan your Pro Dock Lite placement to be a minimum of 6 feet apart and have good sun exposure. Secure the Pro Dock Lite to the one board on the dock surface, never across two boards. Allow a minimum of 8 to 10 hours of full sunlight exposure to charge the Pro Dock Lite.

Built quality good but not very bright
by Claude from Ste-Aurelie, Quebec on June 21, 2011
I had the regular Dock Edge and I had to replace them. I decided to go with the Dock Edge Pro but I am deceived. Construction is quite good and you can replace the batteries. But the brightness of these dock lights is worse than the regular Dock Edge. Sure you can replace the batteries and they might last longer, but for almost no light, so what is the point?
