Well Made But Needed Work To Fit

Got this for a 40/30hp 2011 Yamaha OB Jet. Because of the rounded cover and shorter distance between grab handle and front of motor it needed work. The device is made to adjust the length of the horizontal arm, so that was easy: a set screw and a hacksaw. Then, because of the rounded top of the motor cover, I took it to a local metal fabricator and they bent a curve in the same horizontal peice and also the vertical handle. That cost $10. The two rubber feet on the front of the device look like cane tips and I used some silicone adhesive to make sure they don't fall off. The aluminum is a double pipe, one inside the other, and would be almost impossible to bend by hand. Now the device works perfectly and makes it easy on my 61 year old bad back and I would buy this again without hesitation.

Outboard Motor Tiller

This product is of very high quality, no question about that. The hand grip on my 2011 Merc 15 hp four cycle outboard is quite low on the housing and the "gripper" on the device does not even come close to being able to reach that area. Will not work.

Garelick confirms you should have no issues with your motor. Sometimes there are issues with the engine shroud, but these are typically from brand new engines or extremely old engines. Generally should not be a problem though.
