Neutral Safety Switch - SeaStar Solutions

I ordered from iboats for a good price compared to other sources, it shipped and arrived quickly. The switch works exactly as expected and was easy to install except that I had to take the motor control box back out of my console to install the switch. As far as the price charged by Teleflex goes, it is likely a $5 micro switch if you could find it in an electronic parts catalog someplace. Since that is not too likely you are stuck paying 600% markup. Also, it would seem that if you are paying $400 for a motor control they could just include the switch for that price or even just add the $5 cost to the price and not make it an option since the Coast Guard requires it. Then, if you do not want the neutral start safety feature then just do not connect the switch to your start button / switch / key circuit. A warning to the buyer / installer, Teleflex instructions for controls, cables, switches are not great. If you are not good at figuring out instructions and understanding mechanical devices you may want to go to a boat yard / dealer to have it installed, adjusted, etc.
