Match N Patch Gelcoat Repair Kit - Evercoat

It is a tooth paste consistency. Best applied like a body filler. I used it to fill scratches in the hull. And one place where my boat wore through the color stripe rubbing against the dock for 10 years before I got it. I wish I could show a before and after. You can't tell it was there now. I applied it with a bondo spreader in the scratches and to cover the bad spot. Sanded and buffed afterward. I am sure I will use this again in the future.

The kit was very complete, lots of different colors to blend and lots of patching agents. The process is messy, especially if you haven't used this material before. The kit also is somewhat difficult to apply to corners, so some finesse is required. The patching sands well, something similar to bondo, and the color matching was simple, especially since my boat is white. A custom color might be a bit harder to deal with, but the kit does come with several colors and some instructions about how to blend colors. This kit is great for small repairs, so if you need more or are looking for some sort of fiberglass patch, you may need to get the industrial size.

Product works well vs the hundreds you would spend taking to a shop. Had to some size gouges on the hull and was able to repair. Take the time to tint color to match. Not 100% match but close and happy with it. Wet sanded and buff/polished and has good shine.

I bought this to repair a small area at the bow of my boat where the gel coat was rubbed off from rubbing against concrete. Mixed up easy and hardend in about 1 hour. It has been on my boat for there weeks and still feels like a strong repair. I was able to get the color match fairly close to the teal color of my boat as well. I would use it again.

I recentley repaired a ding in the gelcoat on my RV with the MatchN'Patch repair kit and found it to be a good, easy to use product that made a good strong and hard repair. The only negative thing that I found was color matching was quite dificult, my repair srface was white so shading wasn't quite right but overall I was quite satisfied with the repair.
