Bolted right on to the existing mounting bolts for my tail light. Looks sturdy enough but the reason I had to buy this is I lost my license plate while on a long trip due to my old one (original equipment) breaking off right @ the intersection of the horizontal vertical sections of the "T", so I added a couple of strips of metal predrilled banding to reinforce it and "save" my license plate should this bracket ever break again.
