Johnson Starter Drive Assemblies

Inside bore would not slide all the way on to starter shaft, the last 1/8 in. was undersized .010 in. If I had more time I would of sent it back. Had to ream hole out on top end. After that it works fine.

When I installed mine on my 73 Evinrude it was too tight on the flywheel and the motor wouldn't turn over. After i loosened the bolts it turned the motor just fine. I was able to shim the starter away from the flywheel to achieve proper clearance so that it works as it should.

it seems like the guide/chart to show the part I needed showed this to be correct replacement for starter gear assy for J50TLERE JOHNSON 50 HP 1994....incorrect but refunded...ordered another gear but had to find the spring and spacer elsewhere...? will order from iboats again...even with the difficulty and some frustration...all contacts at iboats, very patient and helpful.

What can you say about a gear, other than it works perfectly and seems to be a high quality part.
