This is the only item I could find on the market that appears to be sturdy enough to last many seasons. The common cushions available through most other sources are polyester fabric or nylon that allows water to quickly penetrate the foam and turn your PFD into a sponge. The Jim-Buoy remains buoyant indefinitely, dries quickly and holds its shape. We always store ours after use so the coating does not weather and crack prematurely. After two seasons, the coated straps have not yet cracked, either. I'm not sure how they'd hold up for salt water boating.
