Installs between the fuel tank and the primer bulb. Prevents pressurized fuel from reaching engines. Provides fuel to a marine engine "on-demand" vs. due to pressure build-up in the tank. Eliminates possibility of fuel spillage from downstream fittings and/or marine engines. Eliminates engine functionality issues created by pressurized fuel lines. Great addition to upgraded fuel systems!
by Scott from Mexico, New York on July 24, 2014
Completely upgraded my fuel tanks and lines to handle modern ethanol fuel, and this little gem was the finishing touch. Prevents fuel under pressure from being forced out of your new EPA compliant fuel tank (modern fuel tanks must hold at least 5 psi to prevent fuel vapor loss) and into your carb bowl, flooding your engine while it sits and isn't running. Only allows fuel to flow to engine if engine demands it (suction from engine fuel pump, or primer bulb). Easy install, cut fuel line 6" upstream from tank fitting (installs between tank fitting and primer bulb, primer bulb suction causes FDV to allow fuel to flow from tank),slide a clamp over each end of your fuel line, push fuel line onto each barb (pay attention to fuel flow direction arrow on valve!) tighten clamps and your done! 10 minute job tops. I can say this much, my engine did not flood and started easily over the course of an afternoon fishing on Lake Ontario in 90 degree summer sun.

Worked as advertised.
by Joseph from Porter, Indiana on July 07, 2013
No issues. The product worked as advertised. Though I cannot say if the tanks worked without this in the fuel line.

I could not figure out why my emgine would quit until I realized it was being flooded by overpressuer from fuel tanks as the heated during the day. After installing this valve, no more problems. Easy to install.

Q:
Do I need siphon protection if I up plug the line from the motor after use. Will the vuel demang valve stop the spraying of gas when the hose is plugged in?
A:
No you don't need the siphon protection when unplugging the line from the motor after use. It will not stop the spraying of gas when the hose is plugged it. This product is just used to help stop the fuel from flooding the engine.
