Child's ladder

I just got my ladder and put it together. The 10" width is barely big enough for a small child to use. Just 4" wider would have made it worth the high price. The little strap to hold it folded is kinda lame, also. The difference between this ladder and one that does not have the hinges is over $100.00. I feel ripped off.

What is the weight capacity and what is the distance from top bolts to where you bolt to back of the transom?

A:

From top bracket to mounting bracket to the transom is 22.4 inches. This ladder is rated to 100 lbs.
