Upon installation i always verify operation by bypassing t-stat. Deicer did not start. I pulled from water and spun blade thru several times then dropped back in water and tried again. This time it started. Restarted several times and all apears well. Cant help but think if i may have a problem later in season. I will say deicer moves considerable amount of water to keep my dock clear and is built solid. There was no mention of my experience as stated above in the operating booklet so my reason for a score of 4. Thanks
