Z-Spar Captain's Varnish 1015, Quart - Pettit Paint

I've used Captain's varnish on my exterior and interior teak on my 26 ft sailboat since I bought it 6 years ago. Varnishing is a bit of work, so knowing that this product will apply easily, look great and last make it worth it. I usually apply several coats to my exterior teak once or twice a year. And it continues to look great. I haven't applied any additional coats to the interior since I originally refinished it and all the wood looks as good as the day it was first done. I've used Cetol on the teak on my first boat, which you can't beat for ease of application. But varnish can be worth the extra effort, with its durable yet beautiful finish.

I have been using Captain's varnish for over 20 years and will continue to do so. What really impressed me about this procurement was the low price, no tax, free delivery, and fast delivery. Great company.

I have always had good luck using Z-Spar. Brushes out really well, looks good and holds up well.

So, I did not buy this for a boat. I bought an amazing Amish-built Adirondack glider that was not cheap. I had the glider for maybe 2 weeks and it started to get moldy from the morning dew and the light rain we had. So I had to wash, bleach and re-sand the entire chair. To prevent this occurring again it was recommended I try a boat product. I could have used polyurethane but I was not certain how well it would hold up in outside weather. The Captain's Varnish has weather-sealed the wood. It bought out a natural and darker coloring to the cypress wood which makes the Adirondack glider look great. I would definitely buy this again.
