Great Idea, and Iboats is Great, but did not work for my 2014 Honda 110

My 2014 Honda 110 had a nut that the Cable Gard was supposed to slide on to. This nut was slightly bigger diameter, and maybe different thread nut, so the Cable Gard and would not fit on it. I think it's a great idea, but just would not fit. Since SeaStar does not list engines it works on, it was really hard to tell until you tried it on. SeaStar has great products. Iboats is a great company!

this product does what it is supposed to do - keep the grease inside the tilt tube, and keep the salt water out of the steering tube. easiest install ever. the o-ring inside even keeps the steering rod clean so you don't get grease on anything (ski rope, fishing line, hand) that touches it. perfect!

Will the nut fit all the tilt tube of a Mercury 115hp ?
A:
SeaStar does not match it up by engine. The gard is designed to fit engines having a tilt tube with a minimum of 3/8" length of exposed 7/8" diameter threads (7/8-14 UNF) and/or an exposed lock nut measuring 1-1/4" across the flats.
