My old ones were worn out, adjusted to the maximum (beach sand in the drain wears out rubber drain plugs). These new ones adjust very easily, and the brass should outlast the plug itself. These replaced my old leaky ones that were 20 years old. Tip: tie your drain plugs to the boat with a short piece of parachute cord or stout monofilament. That way, you can't ever lose them!
