Attwood Gas Spring: Extended = 15", Compressed = 9.5", PSI = 40 - 8 mm Rod
Q:
How do you remove the attwood spring lifts that are currently installed?
A:
Attwood confirms the old style has a clip that with one hand you hold the spring and then put a small flat head screw driver into the clip. From there you pry it and then you can remove the spring.
Q:
Is this the same as sl-40-1?
A:
Not necessarily. The 40 is the PSI on this, but you could have a different model. The SL33 indicates the model, so you will need to know that as well.
Q:
Will this cross over to a Attwood SL13-40-1?
A:
Yes, the specifications match up on both parts.
Q:
My present lift has a compressed length of 9', will this one work?
A:
It could probably work, but you will need to double check the extended length too and you will need to know if the PSI will be strong enough. So you should measure where the gas spring is being installed and just double check.
Q:
Mine say Spring Lift Corp SL33-40. From the composite ends is 10" to 15.5" extended?
A:
This should be the same based on part numbers. You measure center of end to center of end. You're welcome to contact Attwood if you have more questions.
Q:
Will this replace a spring lift corp #sl33-40?
A:
Yes. This is the replacement for the Springlift SL33-40.
Q:
How do you assemble the new cylinder to the bracket?
A:
Push the end fitting onto the ball. It will lock in place.
