Looked good, but broke after a few uses.
by Laroy from Goochland, Virginia on September 09, 2013
The switch was a great replacement with almost the exact labeling for the terminals and fit was great. Using the switch the other day after a few trips the switch turned and kept turning but no boat start. After trying everything it fell apart and I was able to use a screw driver to get the boat to start. No sure if I just got a bad one or not.

Pick another manufacture
by Russell from Edgewater, Maryland on June 23, 2011
The switch I bought sometimes requires me to turn the key several times before it will engage the starter. Maybe it has two many plastic parts? I thought this manufacture was reputable but now I wonder. I think I will buy a spare from another manufacture and replace it when the seadog switch breaks. I gave it a two for cost, but with shipping I should have gone someplace else.

Q:
I have a 4 wire switch, the terminals are quick disconnect not screw. Will this switch work? The old switch has a buzzer that goes on for a few seconds when turned on pos. When the engine is running it sometimes beeps, I checked the gauges no problems with heat or elec. or fluid level. Is this just a bad switch or is this an alarm for something. The wire colors are red/ black strip, yellow/red, purple purple/red.?
A:
Keep in mind we are not technicians, but seems like your terminal types are blade. 420379-1 from Sea-dog (which we do not list) is a 4 blade terminal. Not sure of the buzzing but what we offer will not provide a buzzing. It could also depend on engine application as many motor applications have an alert to let you know that everything is working. As for alarm, it could be an intake air control beep, low oil pressure, low oil, etc. There are many possibilities to the alarms. You will need to contact a technician for that to get it diagnosed properly.

Q:
Will this work on a 2001 searay 180?
A:
420366-1 is the switch which replaces most SeaRay ignition switches from 1990 on. Dimensions: A-13/16", Max Panel 5/8" and it is a 3 screw terminal. So that information you will need to confirm.

Q:
Will this replace the 4 position switch (ACC-OFF-RUN-START) on my 2007 Tahoe 216WT? Original was made by Marine Electrical Products (no #)?
A:
We do not have original parts to compare, so you will need to know specs. This is a 4-Position Ignition Switch 4-Screw Terminal with Cap. Accessory-Off-Ignition-Start. Long shaft type. 1-1/8" max panel. Diameter of shaft is 13/16". Rated: Ignition 15 amp @ 12V DC, Solenoid 30 amp @ 12V DC, Accessory 15 amp @ 12V DC.

Q:
Does it have a double purple post/position?
A:
Not sure what you mean by "double purple post/position", but you should have a purple wire to connect to the ignition terminal. This also has 4 positions Acc.-Off-Ign.-Start. If you have further questions you can contact us at the number at the top of the page.

Q:
Would this be the right replacement switch for a 1977 mercury?
A:
Unfortunately SeaDog doesn't match it up by motors. You will need to know specs such as terminals and positions. Rated: Ignition 15 Amp @ 12VDC, Solenoid 30 Amp @ 12VDC, Accessory 15 Amp @ 12VDC.

Q:
Will this switch fit my 2001 Mastercraft X10?
A:
It will come down to terminals, style, etc. needed. We do not have original information to match up.
