Meh....
by Jason from Platteville, Wisconsin on May 20, 2014
The functionality of this is as described, however, be prepared to do some work on it. I ordered it because it is the same design as my current swivl-eze post. I wanted a 3rd seat in my boat so I ordered this post, a seat and also a seat base. When it arrived, I was ecstatic...... UNTIL I went to slide it in to the mounting hole of my boat. It was about .01 inch too wide in diameter. The stock number and name are the same as my current ones, however, it would not fit. Needing this to go fishing the next morning, I did not have the time, patience or desire to return it for a refund. What did I do you ask??? I had to manually sand the base down for about 45 minutes to get the diameter small enough to fit in the mounting base in the boat. I know it wasn't the base, because I tried it in all 3 of the existing ones. My original two seat posts fit perfectly in all three holes but this one was just too wide. TO look at it and measure it, it appeared to be perfect. I can guess that if I owned a micrometer(or whatever the heck you call one of those high tech measuring devices)it would have said that it was a hair too big... And I aint talking about one of them itty-bitty little fluffy peach fuzz hairs, I'm talking a full blown co nipple hair. Ultimately, yes I'm happy with this seat post now that I stuck an hour or so of my life in to it but I was swearing up a storm the night I installed the little rascal. Just be warned...... SIZE DOES MATTER!

Attwood engineers got it wrong!
by Hugh from Jamesburg, New Jersey on May 12, 2013
I have a 2003 Lowe Sea Nymph with original Swivl-Eze posts and bases. I added 2 seats and wanted matching OEM posts (Snap-Lock 1.77). Unfortunately, some bright engineer at Atwood, makers of Swivl-Eze, decided to redesign the fixed post pedestal to no longer include the locking lever which allows you to both swivel the seat, and lock it in case of rough water. Now you just get a post amd a seat mount that swivels all the time with no way to lock it! What a short-sighted modification! Probably did it to cut costs. Stupid, stupid, stupid! Don't buy this product!

13 in snap lock post
by Chris from Elk Grove, California on September 15, 2012
I had a Swivl-Eze post in my boat, but it was a little high. I took the post out, measured it, the TOTAL length was 16 inches. No where on the new packaging did it say that the 13 inches was the length of the tube ABOVE the floor. As it turns out, I took the new tube out of the packaging and found out that it was the exact same length (16 Inches as my old tube. I immediately, called one of your product reps , explained my situation to him and he immediately set about to make things right. He posted an order for and 11 inch post and told mer I would get it in a few days. He also told me that he would alert the return staff and they in turn would e-mail me with the process and return number for the 13 inch tube. I'm not sure whether your product rep mention that the returned item must be in the original package. When I got the e-mail from you return staff, they were very clear on the return protocol so I did not bother to return the 13 inch post because it was definitely not in the original package. When I got the 11inch post, it was slightly larger in diameter than my floor mount. I removed the snap lock and ground a few hundreths off the bottom diameter of the post of the post, reinstalled the snap lock and now have a serviceable 11 inch post. The new 13 inch post is also slightly larger in diameter, but I have not ground that one or otherwise altered it.
